HISTORY OF MONTE FINO

Monte Fino was founded by California industrialist, Tom Van Rijan, who recognized there was a real need for a new motoryacht that married the very best of Italian design with the skills and craftsmanship found only in Asia. A passionate yachtsman himself, Van Rijan realized that the typical Italian motoryacht did not have the structure and fuel capacity required for remote cruising in Alaskan and Mexican waters and so he launched what became one of the most successful yachting brands in the world.

Today, Monte Fino is recognized as a leader by yachtsmen around the globe. Their ability to offer high quality yachts at sensible prices makes them the right boat at the right time in today’s economy.

After school Mike went to BCC and FAU for a short while, realizing his true passion was the boating industry. He joined Colonial in 1992 and helped build the company to where it is today. Mike D. lives in Fort Lauderdale with his wife Shelley. When not working hard selling yachts, he uses his leisure time to fish and relax with friends and family. His favorite spot to fish is Costa Rica. He also enjoys movies, dining out and traveling.
	Peter Colagiovanni, Vice President of New Boat Sales Direct: (954) 629-7371 petecola@montefino.com Pete was born and raised in New Jersey, where he began his marine career in 1978 as part of the Marine Trades Association.  He then joined the marine loan division of Yegen Associates. He was promoted to become the youngest Vice President in company history.  He then started his own Bank Service Company in cooperation with Richard Bertram & Co. Pete continued in the marine loan origination business until June of 1999, when he transitioned to join the team at Hargrave Custom Yachts.   Pete lives in Plantation, FL with his wife Crystal and several cats and dogs.  Both his kids, Dana and Johnny, are currently in college. Pete is an avid Ice hockey fan and also enjoys golf and fishing.
